Two stretch goals hit, and Hound breakdown
over 4 years ago – Wed, Oct 16, 2019 at 01:01:33 PM

We're on the last day!

WE'VE HIT TWO MORE STRETCH GOALS

Firstly, we've got more art in the book, which is nice. Secondly, we've made the book nicer! Both of these things are very good. We're en route to the final stretch goal now, which is a special Vermissian Black Ops guide that gives rules for Ministers delving into the cursed train network to further the glorious revolution. We're only two and a half grand away.

THE HOUND CLASS BREAKDOWN

The Hound, hard-bitten protector of the masses fueled by the rage and desperation of three hundred deathless soldiers, gets a full breakdown on our website.

That's all for now. Only 24 hours

Deadwalker and Physical Adventures
over 4 years ago – Mon, Oct 14, 2019 at 07:36:52 PM

THREE THINGS, REAL QUICK:

1) The Deadwalker class breakdown is up on our website, so go learn a bit more about these mysterious half-dead wayfinders.

2) We've passed £80k! This means that we're definitely going to print up softcover versions of the PDF stretch goals - at present, that's the Spire conversion kit, ABSOLUTION, and DOORS TO ELSEWHERE. If we hit the Vermissian Black Ops stretch goal - which isn't out of the question at the moment, we're about to hit the last 48 hours of the campaign where things tend to pick up - we'll put that in print too. These books will be available through our backerkit after the campaign ends, and you'll be able to add funds to your pledge and pre-order them if you'd like.

3) Last week, we passed our total for Spire, our most successful crowdfunding campaign to date, which makes Heart the biggest thing we've ever done. Thank you all so much for your support - both in terms of pledges, and by evangelising about our games to your friends and followers. We've built this together and it's so exciting to be able to go into another strange world with you all.

That's all for now.

Cleaver, Special edition covers, New Stretch Goals, Vermissian Knight breakdown
over 4 years ago – Wed, Oct 09, 2019 at 02:33:46 PM

SPECIAL EDITION COVERS.

We got through Felix's sketches for the special edition cover concepts. Here they are:

We’re planning for these to be quarter bound, with the spine in black faux leather and the case itself bound in sustainably produced bookcloth, in red. The cover designs will be printed or foiled on, and the number of colours is yet to be finalised - if we hit our £90k stretch goal, that will let us add printed black to our gold foil and choose a more complex design.

CLOVEN.

That's the stuff! We broke £75,000 last night and, with good fortune and a following wind, we should stay above it. This means two things:

1 - The Cleaver class is unlocked! This heartsblood hunter has the ability to consume creatures of the Heart to gain their power, and their major advances are themed around beneficial mutations - barbed horns of calcium and fleshy bark, pitch-black eyes that see the unseen, and the ability to smell heartbeats. We'll reveal more about them as we write them up.

2 - There are four more stretch goals to take us up to £95,000 - and, we presume, the end of the campaign. We'll have to work something out if we pass that total, which is a good problem to have. The new stretch goals are as follows:

£80,000: PHYSICAL COPIES. We'll commit to making the stretch goal PDFs available as softback editions that you can add to your pledge after the campaign is over using the pledge manager.

£85,000: EVEN MORE ART. More art! Pity Felix's poor drawing hand, but know that we're paying him handsomely for his pain.

£90,000: INCREASED QUALITY. We’ll work with our printers to boost the quality of the standard and special editions. The exact details will come a little closer to printing, but it most likely means placeholder ribbons in every copy, spot lamination on the standard cover, and three-colour printing for the cover of the special edition. We’ll also boost the quality of the stickers and map board, and we‘ll work to offer an upgrade to reusable stickers for folks that want them.

£95,000: VERMISSIAN BLACK OPS. PDF. Rules and guidance for delving into the Vermissian to undertake dangerous missions on behalf of the Ministry, bringing the worlds of Heart and Spire closer together. In an organisation made up of deniable assets, you're doubly deniable - a cadre of reality-breaching revolutionaries who plunge into Train Hell in search of allies, and enemies, from alternate histories.

VERMISSIAN KNIGHT CLASS BREAKDOWN

One of the simplest joys in life is strapping on a suit of overclocked mechanical armour and feeding it ripped-out pages from occult tomes so you can punch an angel in the face. With the Vermissian Knight, you can finally enjoy that simple pleasure in your roleplaying games.

That's all for now. One week left - let's see where we can go from here.

Doors to Elsewhere, and The Incarnadine class breakdown
over 4 years ago – Thu, Oct 03, 2019 at 11:07:53 PM

Three things:

1) We've passed the £70,000 stretch goal, which unlocks the DOORS TO ELSEWHERE adventure written by Grant and Chris. Where is Elsewhere? We're not entirely sure. We keep referencing it, though. With this adventure, mysterious portals to another world will start to appear throughout the City Beneath, and it's up to the delvers to make the best use of them - by stopping whatever's coming through, braving them to explore the alternate universe behind the skin of the Heart, or shutting them down forever.

2) The class breakdown for the Incarnadine, the tragic priests of the goddess of debt, is now live. Take a look here.

3) Kickstarter workers have formally requested that management recognise their union. They've confirmed again that they're not calling for a boycott, but asking people to share solidarity and support by email and social media. We stand by our statement of support; if you'd like to take action yourself, details are on their Twitter feed.

That's all for now. Onwards, towards the next stretch goal - heartsblooded hunter, terror of the mad labyrinth, the Cleaver!

Kickstarter, Heart and the union issue
over 4 years ago – Mon, Sep 30, 2019 at 01:27:17 AM

In light of all the recent controversy over Kickstarter’s treatment of their employees, we’ve prepared an official statement to make it clear where we stand. If you’ve got any questions or concerns that we haven't covered, please comment on this post and we’ll do our best to answer them. - Chris, Grant and Mary
